Cactus barbs! \u003cbr\u003eThe critters would use their sharp claws and spines to slash open the cactuses and drink their fermented juice, as a result they’d go on drunken sprees causing mischief and wreaking havoc on those unlucky enough to be In their path! \u003cbr\u003eRubbing up against camp supplies, clothes, blankets, ponchos even the sleeping cowboys themselves. Of course leaving the tiny sharp cactus barbs in their wake. \u003cbr\u003eSome say they’d knock sand over fires to put them out. \u003cbr\u003eIt is supposed to represent the very spirit of the desert itself. \u003cbr\u003eWhat do you think? Was this a simply a tale told around fires?
